Filing Bankruptcy in Arkansas · Personal Bankruptcy Attorney
Chapter 7 · Chapter 13 · Chapter 12

Filing bankruptcy is a tough decision. No matter what you might hear from lawmakers, most people see bankruptcy as a last resort. At the Baim Law Firm, we have been on the side of people for nearly 70 years. We do not represent big banks or credit card companies. Our attorneys tell clients:

“We are your keys to the courtroom.”

The bankruptcy laws exist to give people a fresh start. Studies show that most people reach the point of bankruptcy because of a loss of income, a divorce, or medical.

At Baim Law Firm, our lawyers will listen to your situation, go over the facts of your case, explain the law to you, and give you the information you need to make the best decision. What should you bring with you to our office?

  • A list of all your bills for everything you owe
  • A list of all your possessions – even if they are not yet paid for
  • Pay stubs for you and your spouse if you are married and live together
  • A list of what it costs you to live including utilities, food, gas, day care, and other necessities
  • If you have been sued for debts, bring that paperwork
  • Proof of insurance on your car, truck and/or boat
  • Proof of income for the past two years from both your and your spouse

To help further organize your information, fill out our bankruptcy intake form With that information, you and your Baim Law Firm bankruptcy lawyer can quickly decide whether to file and what filing is best for you.

  • Chapter 7: Often, most debts are cancelled. You may be able to choose to pay some creditors in order to keep a car, home or property you need.
  • Chapter 13: You may choose to keep all your possessions and reorganize your debts into a once-a-month payment plan.
  • Chapter 12: Especially for family farmers, this allows for a plan of reorganization.

Whatever chapter is best for you, the Baim Law Firm will file your bankruptcy petition electronically, usually on the same day you make your decision. Bankruptcy can stop creditor harassment, phone calls, and repossessions. Tell your creditors to call the Baim Law Firm.

For more information about Chapter 13 bankruptcy, see our practice center. You can also consult our E-newsletter about bankruptcy.
